Age: 5+ Million Years (really old)
History:
Here is a link to the very lengthy, very in-depth TF Wiki
Long story short, Ultra Magnus was an autobot commander during the 4 million year cybertronian civil war. He served as the Duly Appointed Enforcer of the Tyrest Accord (a set of laws restricting the trade of cybertronian technology), and was the premier law-enforcer for the duration of the war. Part lawyer, part super cop, part military hero. After the war he joined the starship Lost Light as second in command on a quest to find the mythical ancestors of the cybertronian race. After a number of horrible unforeseen events, Magnus was killed by a ridiculously powerful decepticon criminal. Near death and mid-coma Magnus apparently stole a shuttle and left the ship, and was pursued by the lost light.
It was revealed that Ultra Magnus was actually the autobot soldier Minimus Ambus, who had been given the Magnus Armor by Chief Justice Tyrest to act as Ultra Magnus after his death, one of many who had served as the famous hero during the war. Minimus knew the armor would return to Tyrest upon his death, and used it to lure the Lost Light to Tyrest in the hopes that the chief justice would knock some sense into the ship's brash and careless captain.
Unfortunately Tyrest had gone completely insane and decided to kill approximately 50% of cybertronians. He attempted to kill Minimus Ambus, but failed, and his plan was foiled by the combined efforts of the Lost Light crew. After this, Ultra Magnus retired from his role as the Duly Appointed Enforcer of the Tyrest Accord. Shortly after, an extremely ambitious decepticon scientist attempted to destroy the universe, which led to Decepticon leader Megatron joining the Autobots. Ultra Magnus represented the warlord in court when he was tried for war crimes, but due to a technicality Megatron's sentence was postponed. In exchange for publicly renouncing decepticonism and disbanding the movement, Megatron was given the chance to join the Lost Light and help find a way to rebuild the world he had destroyed. Ultra Magnus has continued serving as second-in-command (technically third, below the two captains).
Personality:
To understand Minimus Ambus, it’s best to start with Ultra Magnus. The original Ultra Magnus. A no-nonsense, law abiding soldier, Ultra Magnus was respected, feared, and admired by his fellow cybertronians. A hero of the before the Autobot-Decepticon war, his reputation was legendary. He was the kind of bot that Minimus Ambus wanted to become.
And that’s exactly what he did.
After the death of original Ultra Magnus, the Autobot Chief Justice Tyrest created the Magnus Armor, a body modeled after the famous law enforcer that could only be operated by cybertronians with a certain type of spark. As far as everyone else knew, Ultra Magnus had miraculously survived a fatal injury. As the war continued, the first bot to wear the name and face of Ultra Magnus was killed, and the role was passed on to another. The legend of Ultra Magnus continued to grow as he seemed to repeated escape death, fighting in a number of pivotal battles during the war. With each death, the Magnus Armor would return to the Chief Justice Tyrest and another would take up the mantle. The ruse worked because every individual who wore the armor acted as the original Ultra Magnus would have. He became justice personified.
Eventually, the Tyrest passed the armor and responsibility of continuing the legacy of Ultra Magnus to Minimus Ambus. Throughout the war Minimus wore the title longer than any of his predecessors, and deeply internalized the meaning of Ultra Magnus as a symbol. All his actions were measured against the image of Ultra Magnus, and until very recently, almost everything he did was influenced by how others would view him. Even though he himself knew the truth, as far as anyone else was concerned, he was Ultra Magnus.
A lawman first and foremost, Magnus will do everything in his power to ensure that any rules and regulations are in place and followed to the mark. To say Ultra Magnus upholds the letter of the law would be a gross understatement, at this point ‘Ultra Magnus’ is pretty much synonymous with the Autobot Code. He views it as an absolute ideal that everyone should strive to follow. Ultra Magnus was extremely dedicated to his job as Tyrest’s enforcer, and approached his role as an Autobot, soldier, and commander with equal dedication. There’s hardly ever a time when he isn’t working.
Ultra Magnus is the very definition of a 'by the book' soldier, and is wary of impromptu decisions and rash action. He works best when there are clear paths of action and defined roles, but even so years of fighting have trained him to be quick to respond to dangers and obstacles. Ultra Magnus dislikes unnecessary violence and risk, especially when it is the result of faulty decision making or leadership. Even with all his experience as a commander, Magnus is not one to step up to be a leader unless he has so. He fears failing and his team suffering for it, which is one of the reasons he sometimes prefers to work alone. Things are simpler when you only have to worry about yourself. Ultra Magnus sees himself as a soldier before a leader, and would rather be the one following orders than giving them. He is extremely loyal to the autobots and his superiors, and will follow orders unquestionably, though that doesn’t mean he won’t express his disapproval of how a situation was handled.
He is quick to judge others, and is generally very critical, literally ranking the people around him based on the likelihood of undesirable behavior and criminal activity, anything from murder to wearing their badge at an agle. He tends to assume the worst of everyone until they have proven themselves through their actions. He is willing to give people a second chance, but with a level of caution that shows how difficult it is for him to trust others. Ultra Magnus spent most of his life trying to remain distant and objective, avoiding letting his personal feelings get in the way of his work. Despite this, he is extremely loyal to his team and the autobot cause. He is very protective of his crew and teammates, and will take every precaution to ensure everyone's safety.
Ultra Magnus is notoriously obsessed with order and neatness. His office is spotless, everything is exact and in its place. Everything is organized. It’s a well known fact on the Lost Light that the easiest way to upset Magnus is be messy or disorganized (he once arrested someone for putting apostrophes in the wrong place on a sign). He will spot errors or inconsistencies others may have missed or dismissed, and either fix them himself or ensure they’re recorded at the very least.
Since giving up his title as the Duly Appointed Enforcer of the Tyrest Accord, no longer required to live up to the legacy of the original Ultra Magnus, Minimus Ambus has begun exploring the idea of having his own identity. He has become much more introspective, but while he is no longer expected to pretend to be someone else, Ambus lived as Ultra Magnus for so long that separating his identity is not exactly easy. Even with his cover blown, he still wears the Magnus Armor and goes by Ultra Magnus, but now he does so with more freedom than he allowed himself before. Magnus has made an effort to be more personable, even mingling with the crew and dropping his self imposed ban on slang, idioms and metaphors. He has started allowing himself to show weakness and vulnerability, to be more of a person than an icon. It’s been a slow and difficult transition.

Abilities/Skills:
- A whole boatload of giant robot powers including: extreme longevity (cybertronians are ridiculously long lived), durability (made of metal), space survivability/ability to function in extreme environments (see: robot), near invulnerability (pretty much any injury that doesn't destroy the spark is repairable),
- Ability to transform into an alternate vehicle mode
- Holomatter projection, allowing him to project a hard-light avatar to interact with other species (usually human)
- Minimus Ambus is what's known as a "load bearer" courtesy of possessing a rare type of spark. If a cybertronian builds out their anatomy beyond a certain threshold, the animating power of their spark will be unable to support their body and they would freeze up. Ambus' spark, on the other hand, lends itself to augmentation, and he can utilize neurohardware (such as the Magnus Armor) to control bodies several times larger than his own.
- The Magnus Armor has some built in weapons, including missile launchers and head guns
- Ultra Magnus is really good at fighting
- Note: There a few key differences between Ultra Magnus and Minimus Ambus. Namely scale: Magnus is approx. 40' tall, while Minimus is closer to 18'. Ultra Magnus turns into some sort of truck with missile launchers on it, Minimus turns into a minesweeper. Minimus does not have any built in weapons, unlike the Magnus Armor.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
- Very, very organized and detail oriented
- Millions of years of combat experience
- Intimate knowledge of the legal system, both cybertronian on galactic laws
- Experienced with inter-species negotiation
- Extremely dedicated worker
- Will follow his commanding officers orders without question unless they go directly against the autobot code
- Coming from an advanced mechanical race, Magnus is pretty decent with technology, though he's no specialist
- Rigid and inflexible when it comes to rules and procedure
- Extremely critical of others
- Very bad at socializing and interacting with people
- Obsessive about things being neat and orderly
- Still coming to terms with not being a unwavering symbol of order and justice
Items:
- 1x Pistol - a robot sized handgun
- 1x Rodimus Star - A medal with the captain's face on it
- 1x Magnus Armor(?) - it is probably debatable whether the Magnus Armor should count as an item or not since he is neurologically connected to it and for all intents and purposes it serves as part of his body. It is however technically not part of his actual body. I'm including it here because it is an item that significantly alter's Ultra Magnus/Minimus Ambus' power level. However you guys want to handle it is fine by me (basically I am open to the possibility it would be 'lost' in the Ingress).

Attention, crew of the Moira. It has come to my attention that prior to my arrival on this ship, there have been numerous instances where rules enacted by the captains were ignored, resulting in injury to crewmates and innocent bystanders alike. As more detail on these issues comes to light, it has become clear that there is a troubling level of disregard for the chain of command aboard this vessel. Do not forget you are contractually bound to follow the rules and regulations of the Moira, regardless of the issue. Something that may seem minor to you may have dire consequences, and it is in your best interest to trust the word of the captains when they present you with a direct order. While the desire to question their actions is understandable, the captains are the experts on the Moira and its history, and we must respect the fact that they are privy to information that we do not possess. While I do not necessarily condone their decision to withhold information from the crew, until such a time that the full scope of the issue becomes apparent, it is in your best interest to follow the established protocol.

To the captains and all crewmembers involved in the enforcement of shipwide policy, please contact me at your earliest convenience, either in person or via MID communication. There are some finer points I wish to discuss with further, as well as a few suggestions I would like to offer that may help with the situation.
Thank you for your time.
