Minimus Ambus is the very definition of a 'by the book' soldier. A lawman first and foremost, Minimus will do everything in his power to ensure that rules and regulations are in place and followed to the mark. He's extremely particular and detail oriented, to the point of being obsessive, much to the chagrin of those under his command. He takes his job incredibly seriously and is an extreme workaholic, rarely taking time to relax. Minimus Ambus has virtually no sense of humor, and responds poorly to jokes and wisecracks.

His experience and abilities in the field make him an excellent fighter, and this combined with his intelligence and organizational skills have made him indispensable to the Autobot cause as Ultra Magnus. Though he has been serving as a commander for some time, Minimus sees himself more as a soldier than a leader, going back to his days serving in the Primal Vanguard, and would rather follow orders than be the one giving them.

Minimus has a good memory for names and faces, and tends to evaluate people based on their actions and possible transgressions. In general, he is extremely critical of people and has a tendency to assume anyone has the potential to become a criminal. While Minimus Ambus attempts to remain impartial and unattached, he can be very protective of his crew and teammates, and will take every precaution to ensure everyone's safety to the best of his ability. Like Optimus Prime, Minimus Ambus dislikes unnecessary violence and risk, especially when it is the result of faulty decision making or leadership. Recently, Minumus has made some effort to be more personable, with limited success.
